About The Author

About David Kubicek

David Kubicek I write thoughtful speculative fiction in a variety of genres, including science fiction, horror, and mainstream/literary. I started writing seriously in my senior year in high school. Actually, I’d been writing long before that, but my senior year was when I decided to stop writing “closet stories” (stories that went directly from my typewriter to a box in my closet) and to actually publish them where others could read them. The learning process took a while. It was several years before I was able to write consistently publishable stories. I reached that milestone in college about the time I participated in a writing workshop.  In my final year of college, I added nonfiction to the mix, and journalism eventually became a major part of my output. What follows is a brief resume of my writing career.
